I've been looking for a way to display my photos in my room without buying lots of frames and stuffing shelves with them. So, this little project came to mind. I have seen it several other places, and I love the idea! It's a cheap way to display your photos. We had a few difficulties, but my sister and I love it!
Start with these items...
This was a spur-of-the-moment, Saturday boredness kind of thing. We already had the clothespins and twine, so it worked out really nice.
Print and cut out your selected photographs.
We ended up with about 35 photos, but did not use them all.
We cut all these out. It was fun. :)
We had to improvise since this had to be a temporary thing. Our rooms are being moved soon, so we couldn't nail anything into the wall. If you're able to nail into your wall, I suggest doing that.
nail (or tack) the twin to a wall
really bad picture! :) |
In our room, we each have a bulletin board across from our beds. We hung the twine in-between these boards.
once the twine is secured, attach photos to the twine with clothespins
We had to tighten the twine because the clothespins were a little heavy, but it worked out!
finished project!
It's not perfect - the boards are leaning in a little bit, and the photos have begun to curl since they're not on photo paper. But, all in all, we are happy with what we made!
What do you think? Would you do this in your room?
p.s. Like the new design?
i was thinking about doing this for my room but never got around to it... maybe when i get back from vacation... and i love the new design! i'm thinking of redesigning my blog, too, as soon as i get back home :)

love this idea! Have seen it several times, but I'm redisigning my room this month. I have awful wood paneling to work with...and we can't paint it yet, so I'm thinking up ways to cover up my walls as much as possible.;)
