The Four. Forever Ours.

Sometimes, God works in ways I can't even describe.

That was my chat status on the 14th of November  That was the day I became an older sister again...and a girl with ten siblings.

Thank you so much for your emails and comments expressing your prayer for our family.  I am immensely grateful.  For each and every one of you.

Most of you probably know that my parents were in Ethiopia last week for our court date for our adoption.  Due to a mix up with our agency, we found out that the actual court date wasn't until the 21st of November, but the court was working hard to pass us.  It was emotional for us back in the US because we didn't know what was going on or what had gone wrong.  Then, Tuesday morning came.  I came downstairs to little children screaming and laughing and my mom having a little dance party in the kitchen.  "We passed court."  No way.  No way, God.  You did not just do that.  But, He did.  He always does.

I love the way God works.  Mixes things up to test your trust, your faith.  He definitely tested mine, saying I still have to wait.  More days.  More time before these kids can become family.  When you pass court, the children you are adopting become legally yours.  It's so much more than that.  They were already a part of our family...now it's forever.  So, I introduce to you The Four.  Forever ours.

My talented mom made this video.

Thank you again, sweet blogging friends.

  6. Dear Olivia and Family,

Congratulations! I am so excited for you all! I pray that everyone can get adjusted and can settle in. You all are in my continued thoughts and prayers. I'm not going to be able to sit in school today because I am so excited! :-) I've always wanted my parents to adopt to have even a larger family (but not as large as yours;)). May God continue to watch out for you all!

    God's Blessings,
    Madie

  30. Olivia, I'm sooo happy for you all! You have such an amazing family. As others said, this brought tears to my eyes, the yes to life is such an amazing gift to watch/experience. I saw on your mom's blog that you might/hopefully be bringing them home sometime near the beginning of December, God obviously wants some extra Christmas love spreading around this year as my Aunt and Uncle are going to China Dec. 2nd to bring home a little girl (and actually, they've named her Olivia).

Your whole family is in my prayers!

  32. I know I'm late in posting this but better late then never, right? ;) I just wanted to say how excited this makes me. Your siblings are precious and the part where your parents meet them had me in tears!! I loved it so much I had to show it to my mom the next day and then she was crying! Haha. We are so close to bringing my 9 year old sister home from Eastern Europe so I guess it hit close to home for us. Haha.

Anyway, I can't wait to see them home! Congrats!!! (Also if you ever need to vent about adoption frustrations feel free to shoot me an email. I'm kind of freaked out about our adoption and we are only adopting ONE child. Oy. In the end it will be worth it though!).
