lake grain + summer memories

I've said it so many times, and you all are most likely tired of reading posts like this, but the lake cottage is my favorite. The simplicity of it - no internet, dishwasher, or t.v. - means a special kind of rest...one without pressure or haste. And I think that's what I love the most. This place means so much to me that I wish I could take you all there and share it with you, because I'm not able to capture it in words. This is the lake cottage:

late night campfires//sunburned arms//wet suits hanging off the bathtub//grilled hotdogs and watermelon slices//evening ice cream runs//walking to the aunt and uncle's cottage//tubing, kneeboarding, wakeboarding, skiing//digging for clams//swimming in the basin//laughing late at night with cousins and friends//star gazing & campfire stories//kayaking//dinner on the picnic table

p.s. If you notice several different edits, it's because I'm trying to find my editing style. It's taking a while. Anddd...I might be waiting until I can afford vcso. ;)

  6. Lovely! Going to the lake might be one of the happiest things of the summer. These pictures are great! I love the second one, it looks like my sister... "uggh! Stop taking pictures of me!" ;)

By the way, I'll probably post our adoption story on my blog within the next couple of weeks! I know you encouraged me once to do that, and I want to. It's just so much to explain.

    hugs,
    Lindsey

  7. i'm holding out for vsco as well!
these are so beautiful. they look like a mix of film and digital, and you're capturing the raw and the energy in life. you know, how sometimes people freeze for the camera, but most of the time they're just going going going. you're good at doing the going going going. just so you know. :)
